Active is led by an experienced team of industry leaders whose direction, marketplace expertise and strong understanding of customer needs have resulted in unprecedented growth and success.

Dave Alberga, Chief Executive Officer

Under Alberga's direction, The Active Network now serves a customer base that includes local governments, parks and recreation departments, golf courses, non-profits, sports organizations and associations, educational organizations, and consumer products corporations throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The company is also named among the top, fastest growing technology companies in North America by Deloitte & Touche and recognized as an Inc. 500 company.

Prior to The Active Network, Alberga spent three years in operations for TicketmasterOnline CitySearch (NASDAQ: TMCS), a leading portal and transaction company. In his three years at TMCS, his initial role as general manager of established markets for CitySearch City Guides was expanded to executive vice president and then, chief operating officer. TMCS career highlights include successfully leading local management teams in 35 markets, while overseeing operating and reporting procedures for each field organization, and participating in raising private and public equity for CitySearch.

Alberga has also held a number of senior management positions with diverse, technology-based companies, such as Linear Technology, a leading analog semiconductor manufacturer, and Silicon Valley Technology, Inc. He brings strong management consulting and brand management expertise from his work with the Boston Consulting Group and Procter & Gamble. Alberga holds a Master of Business Administration degree and Master of Arts degree from Stanford University. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in general engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Alberga is also a board member of Running USA, a national non-profit trade organization dedicated to improving the status of road racing and long distance running in the United States.

Matt Landa, President

As president of The Active Network, Inc., Landa currently leads the general managers of each technology business unit to set strategic direction and execute on establishing Active as the leader in each of its markets. Landa also oversees the company's commerce operations as well as its full service, integrated marketing and consumer promotions agency, Active Marketing Group. Under Landa's leadership, Active Marketing Group was named among the top-ten, fastest growing promotions agencies in the nation by PROMO Magazine.

Formerly president and CEO of Silicon Valley-based CMC Industries, Landa was credited with driving the electronics manufacturer's growth from approximately $140 million in sales in 1995 to over $300 million in 1998. After merging with ACT Manufacturing in 1999, he served as president of the new company until March 2000. Prior to CMC, Landa was chief operating officer of Silicon Valley Technology (SVT), a high-volume manufacturer of electronics products.

Additional experience includes serving as an associate for Monitor Company, a strategic consulting firm based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Landa holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Dartmouth College with concentrations in engineering and economics.

Jon Belmonte, Chief Operating Officer

In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Belmonte oversees the company's Media & Marketing Services division, including Active Marketing Group and Active Media Properties.

Active Marketing Group is a digital media and marketing services firm that leverages its direct relationships to communities nationwide to help brands connect with active-minded consumers. Active Media Properties develops the company’s consumer media properties, including Active.com, eteamz.com and the SportsPower properties, where consumers find, choose and register for “things to do” and then interact with other active-minded consumers while preparing for and commemorating their favorite activity.

Belmonte brings a strong background in strategic marketing and management consulting for both consumer and business markets. Previously, he was co-founder of Westminster, Colo.-based LeagueLink, a Web-based provider of league administration tools which later became part of The Active Network. Prior to LeagueLink, Belmonte worked as a strategy consultant for The Boston Consulting Group, where he analyzed marketing, management and finance issues within a variety of industries including Internet and communication-focused businesses. He also headed operations for Kew Management Corporation and has advised several start-up ventures on strategy and financing issues.

A graduate of the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, Belmonte received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. Active in basketball, lacrosse and running, Belmonte lives in La Jolla with his wife Rita and two children Hana and Calvin.

Steve Kemper, Chief Financial Officer

Kemper joined The Active Network in December 2007 and serves as its chief financial officer with overall responsibility for the corporate finance, accounting, investor relations, legal and human resources functions. Kemper brings more than 25 years experience in finance and has raised half a billion dollars in public and private equity and debt for emerging growth companies.

Prior to The Active Network, Kemper was chief financial officer of DexCom, Inc., a medical technology company that he took public on NASDAQ in 2005. Earlier in his career, Steve led the financial team for General Instrument’s Satellite TV business (now Motorola Broadband), which grew to over $500 million in revenues during his tenure.

Kemper holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Loyola Marymount University and a Master of Science, Accountancy, degree from San Diego State University. He also earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego, and is a licensed CPA.

Kourosh Vossoughi, Senior Vice President and General Counsel

Vossoughi is responsible for The Active Network’s legal affairs, providing legal counsel for the company's mergers and acquisitions, private financings, contract negotiations, securities law compliance, intellectual property, employment and litigation matters.

Prior to joining The Active Network, Vossoughi practiced corporate/securities law at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison for two years. Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison was one of California's leading technology law firms. From 1996 to 1998, Vossoughi practiced corporate/securities law at Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps, San Diego's oldest and largest law firm.

Vossoughi graduated second in his class from the University of San Diego, School of Law, and is a member of the California Bar Association. He also holds a bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, in neurobiology with a minor in business administration from the University of California at Berkeley.

Alex Barnetson, Senior Vice President

Barnetson oversees sales, marketing, customer support and professional services within The Active Network’s technology business unit which provides both enterprise and hosted solutions for a variety of vertical markets that offer participatory activities including endurance events, sports organizations, governments (local and state), camps, campgrounds, parks & recreation, schools, colleges/universities, business events, golf courses/clubs, attractions, non-profits and fitness/wellness centers.

Barnetson brings extensive packaged software manufacturing and operations experience, with a strong focus in strategic sales and marketing for community service organizations. Prior to Active's acquisition of the company in October 2004, Barnetson was president and chief operating officer of Vancouver, B.C.-based Class Software Solutions. Class, a provider of enterprise-based program, facility and revenue management tools, that served over 700 community agencies in the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand, generating over $12M in revenue and employing 140 staff at time of acquisition.

Since 1987, Barnetson held various positions with Class, including implementation, training, support, consulting, sales and marketing management. Previously, Barnetson worked with community recreation organizations as a program coordinator and served as a director for the Canadian Parks & Recreation Association and Simon Fraser University Alumni Association. Barnetson is a graduate of Simon Fraser University, was captain of the Varisty soccer team, had a brief career with the NASL's Vancouver Whitecaps and is currently involved as a coach and VP with a community soccer club.

Sheryl Roland, Senior Vice President of Human Resources

Sheryl RolandRoland brings over 25 years experience in human resources and is responsible for overseeing all of The Active Network’s HR functions including recruitment, retention, benefits and training for the company’s nearly 2,000 worldwide employees.

Prior to joining The Active Network, Roland was senior vice president, human resources and administration, of Visual Sciences (formally WebSideStory, Inc.) where she was responsible for human resources, payroll, administration and facilities. While there, she implemented strategic initiatives domestically and abroad, including the development and implementation of HR strategies that impacted staffing, retention, and performance improvement. Additionally, Roland played a key role in the integration of two company acquisitions and served on the senior management team that took WebSideStory public. Roland has also held senior level human resources positions at The Upper Deck Company, Taco Bell and Encad.

Roland holds a Masters of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from San Jose State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Alan Cole, Vice President of Active Media Properties

Alan ColeCole oversees The Active Network’s family of consumer media properties including Active.com, eteamz.com, CoolRunning.com, LaxPower.com and the SportsPower franchise. In addition, Cole is responsible for Active’s consumer products including Active Trainer and Active Recruiting.

Prior to joining The Active Network, Cole was president and founder of DELTYME Corporation, a San Diego-based web application solutions provider, where he managed all corporate operations and business development. Cole was directly responsible for securing and executing successful engagements with clients such as Costco, Cisco Systems and Target Stores.

Cole holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas and a Bachelor of Science degree from Santa Clara University with a concentration in engineering.

Josh Schlesser, Vice President of Technology

Schlesser oversees the development and the daily operations of the company's hosted services and transaction processing platform.

Previously, he directed online operations at JGSullivan Interactive, a marketing and software development firm. Joining JGSullivan in 1998 - a time when the industry was just beginning to look at the potential of the Internet and Web applications - Schlesser developed one of the industry's first online engines to provide content management and back-end data management tools for appliance dealers to easily build Web sites and offer a Web presence to their customer base.

Other career highlights include a position as research physicist at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, operators of the world's highest-energy particle accelerator. Schlesser holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from the University of Mississippi.

Matt Ehrlichman, Vice President of Strategy

Ehrlichman leads business development and strategic and market-development initiatives for The Active Network.

Prior to joining the company, Ehrlichman was the co-founder and CEO of Thriva which was acquired by The Active Network in March 2007. Thriva provided registration and management applications to the event, camp, education and league markets.

Heading up The Active Network's office of 65 employees in Bothell, Washington, Ehrlichman currently leads the general managers of each business unit to set strategic direction and execute on establishing The Active Network as the leader in each market entered.

Ehrlichman received both his Bachelor of Science degree in Entrepreneurial Engineering and Master of Science degree in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.
