Extend-A-Care for Kids Selects Software from Active to Streamline Operations For Over 70 Centers
SAN DIEGO, CA – April 30, 2009 – Extend-A-Care for Kids (EAC), the largest afterschool organization in Central Texas with over 70 centers and 2,500 kids enrolled daily, has selected technology from The Active Network, Inc. (Active), a leading provider of software technology and marketing solutions for community service organizations, to provide technology to manage and automate daily operations. Active’s Web-based software, available through its ActiveCommunities division, will eliminate inefficient manual processes for EAC’s staff and greatly improve the registration experience for parents and families.
“We are excited about responding to our customers’ requests for real time access to their account information and online registration capability,” explained Joan Altobelli, executive director for Extend-A-Care for Kids. “We will be able to reduce the number of software systems and double data entry that our current process requires, and our administrative staff will have more time to focus on other priorities necessary to execute our mission as a non-profit organization. Active’s technology will provide us with a single database to store information and provide parents and the community with quick, accurate and inexpensive online registration and accounting options.”
The new Web-based system will provide parents with 24/7 access to accurate information, an immediate email to confirm their child’s enrollment in a program and enhanced customer support. Active’s online registration services for child care programs will streamline enrollment in after-school classes and provide EAC’s staff with valuable reporting tools to track membership statistics and create reports that can be exchanged across the 70 centers when technology at each center is available.
“Our technology will provide Extend-A-Care for Kids with an easy-to-use software solution that is affordable, practical and will allow the organization to spend more time focusing on what’s most important, the kids and their families,” explained Alex Barnetson, senior vice president of The Active Network, Inc.
In addition to Extend-A-Care for Kids, Active provides online registration solutions to the City of Houston’s Parks and Recreation Department as well as 40 other organizations in Texas.
