espnW to Give Away 20,000 Free Active.com Trainer Plans this Year
SAN DIEGO, CA – April 27, 2011 – Active.com®, a media property of Active Network, and the leading online community that connects people with the sports and activities they love to do, announced today that espnW, ESPN’s content and digital business initiative for women, has joined the Active.com online affiliate program. Launched last quarter, the online affiliate program allows marketers and publishers to earn revenue by directing consumers to register for activities they are interested in through Active.com. Additionally, the companies are partnering to deliver Active.com Trainer plans to meet the diverse needs of the espnW audience. Individuals may register at espnW to receive one of 20,000 free Active.com Trainer plans on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The co-branded Active.com Trainer plans are designed to help espnW users plan, log and share their results as they train for a range of fitness activities including 5K and 10K races, half and full marathons and triathlons. Active.com Trainer also leverages Badgeville and its Social Rewards & Analytics Platform to reward users with an array of online badges to tout their progress and success to their friends. The co-branded espnW Active.com Trainer plans go live next month.
"This new collaboration with espnW is a great example of the versatility and impact that Active.com has on consumers wanting to adopt a more active lifestyle and progress on their fitness journey," said Jon Belmonte, chief media officer at Active Network. "We believe that espnW has created a unique dialogue and experience for active women, who are a natural audience for our products and services."
The launch of co-branded espnW Active.com Trainer plans helps support Active Network’s goal of driving 100,000 individuals to join the Million PALA Challenge by September 2011.
