HALLANDALE BEACH, FL. - August 12, 2002 - The City of Hallandale Beach Parks & Recreation Department is now offering online registration for its year-round camp. With online registration, the community can view camp information, check availability, and sign up and pay online from home or work at www.ci.hallandale.fl.us
As Director of Parks & Recreation Jeff Naftal explained, "We decided to add online registration to provide convenience for our citizens. It is convenient because they can use the service from home, 24 hours per day, and they can pay by charge instead of cash or check only at our offices. We believe that providing online registration is another means of accommodating our citizens to the fullest possible extent."
To provide online registration, the department is using ProActive, a recreation management software and Web registration product by La Jolla-based The Active Network. The software installs easily and registration and data management capabilities can be accessed quickly. With online enrollment, the staff reduces the workload and paperwork involved in the registration process.
The department offers year-round camp during the entire year except for the summer break at Hallandale Elementary School. Camp is offered each week from 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m., excluding weekends and major holidays. Participants can register for the current week and through June 2003.
To register online, participants can visit www.ci.hallandale.fl.us and click on Parks/Recreation. There is a nominal convenience fee to use the online service. Walk-in registration is also available at the Parks and Recreation Department office, located at the Cultural Community Center on 410 S.E. 3 Street. Walk-in registration hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. and weekends, 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. Walk-in registration requires a check or cash payment.
