We’re back from largest conference and trade show in the global attractions industry. Approximately 29,000 amusement parks and attractions industry professionals spent 5 days at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, to debut new products, connect with industry peers, and discuss the latest trends.
The expo floor was full of a variety of booths with interactive activities including multi-sensory simulations, a “spinning coaster,” a scare factory booth, and much more. IAAPA felt more like an amusement park than a business trade show. Companies were also exhibiting new mobile technologies that have the potential to streamline parks operations, while enhancing interactions with guests.
ACTIVE Network was there introducing a new app, RTP|ONE LivePass™, that has the potential to change the amusement and attractions industry. LivePass™ extends parks and attractions reach to their guests with interactive content, push notifications, mobile commerce, and cashless payments.
ACTIVE was onsite demonstrating LivePass™ to highlight the app’s features, which include the ability to drive social conversations with guests and communicate updates in real time. Users can also create customized content through different tiles linking to webcams throughout the park or Twitter and Facebook feeds. Augmented reality technology creates an experience unique to every attraction, allowing guests to understand more about what they are experiencing instantly.
Other IAAPA highlights included the Technology Trends showcase where industry experts presented on various topics and the Lunch & Learn with George Kalogridis, President of Walt Disney World.
