San Diego, Calif.—November 19, 2012 - The ACTIVE Network, Inc. (NYSE: ACTV), the leader in cloud-based Activity and Participant Management™ (APM), and LeftLaneSports.com, the leading members-only e-commerce site in the sporting goods industry, today announced the launch of ACTIVE GearUp™, a private sales website offering exclusive deals on products from top endurance and outdoor brands. ACTIVE GearUp will replace ACTIVE’s existing daily deal program, Schwaggle™, a member-based site that offers discounts on endurance products and services. The new website, which will be the largest private sales website in the sporting goods industry based on membership, will now offer its consumers access to more elite brands, more competitive deals and fast, one-business-day shipping.
ACTIVE GearUp will host 3-4 daily sales events, featuring products from top endurance and outdoor brands. Merchandise in each sale will typically be discounted 50-70% off retail price, and ACTIVE Advantage members will receive additional discounts upon check-out. Members will also be able to shop brand name merchandise year round through the site’s footwear, apparel, gear, and brand shops. In addition, ACTIVE GearUp will feature a women-only shop where female consumers can quickly find products to meet their specific needs.
“The mission for ACTIVE GearUp is to give consumers access to discounts on the gear they need to do the activities they love,” said Brian Enge, Vice President of Consumer Products at ACTIVE Network. “Partnering with LeftLaneSports.com is a great benefit for active consumers because it allows us to provide them with competitive deals on the most desired brands.”
Examples of the types of brands consumers can expect to find on ACTIVE GearUp will include New Balance, Zoot, Asics, Giant and nearly 400 other top brands that are hand selected by LeftLaneSports.com’s expert buying team made up of triathletes, runners and industry insiders with decades of experience.
“We are excited to partner with ACTIVE Network and to announce the new ACTIVE GearUp site,” said Erik Fialho, Chief Strategy Officer at LeftLane Sports. “We’re looking forward to coupling our expertise in e-commerce with ACTIVE’s knowledge and experience in the endurance space. Together, we believe that we can offer our members the best selection of brands, products, prices, and service in the marketplace.”
