ACTIVE Powers TEDx San Diego

We are all blown away.Over 40 ACTIVE employees were part of the crew who helped make the 3rd Annual TEDx San Diego event come to life for over 600 participants on Saturday.Over 20 speakers shared talks ranging from curing cancer to creating mind-controlled computing technology. We were witness to Dr. Edith Eva Eger's story of surviving Auschwitz and watched Steve Wampler become the first man in the world with cerebral palsy to climb the largest rock face in the world, El Capitan -- one inch at a time. Music by Ben Sollee and Zach Dellinger and Cynthia Valenzuela from the Monarch School moved us to tears. Wow.ACTIVE was honored to power the event through not only our team's volunteer time, but with our technology. TEDx San Diego used ACTIVE's RegOnline system to handle all the applications and acceptance letters for the sold out event. The system coordinated speakers and speaker guests. And our goal was to ensure that the producers of the event could focus on the most important thing – creating an unforgettable experience. They delivered. Here are some of the thoughts our team shared after the day."I think it is really easy to get caught up in the business side of a technology company – to see people who have gone beyond that and the difference they are making was very inspiring. It puts a whole different perspective on why I want to be in the technology business, and how my mindset should be.""The day was entirely jam-packed with bests. From the green room conversations among the speakers to seeing how each of them handled their nerves to, of course, the speeches and performances themselves, I came away feeling inspired, awe-struck and compelled to push myself and my brain to do more and tackle those items that have been on my "To-Do" list for years." Don't take our word for it. Watch the round up from San Diego's NBC News here.
